PrizeGiving 2012

There were loads of parents cousins sisters brothers and others we all had to line up in our rows first we done the National Anthem then Taulangi was giving out Trophys and Certificates to who got called up for succeeding in Baristas Kapa haka and others. Then the year 6's performed I liked there dance was very energetic there was a movie playing behind them. Then there was somemore Trophys and certificates for year 7's they got lolly necklace and some certificates or trophys or both. The year 7's performed there itle the first song was my favourite Makerita and Mary L were very good dancers Then the year 8's performed we had 3 songs to dance to 2 christmas songs and 1 regular song once we finished our song we had to sit on the stage cause it was our last Prizegiving before we go to collage for next year.

Bestfriends

Well these are my friends its our last year for us it will be sad to leave Pt England School when you have other friends that are year 7s we will miss each other and our other friends. Stephanie and Brooke are like 2 of my best mates that i can tell them how i feel or tell them my secreats they'd keep anything i tell them to themselves. Aliza she just started last year she's pretty and everyone would love to be her friend Cael she was just the person that always makes me laugh all the time Chylsea she's just a good girl and good to kick back with.   And Awhina she's just sometimes annoying and can start trouble  with me or others i see her everyday and morning shes my twin sister and ilove her.

Im  older than Awhina by 2 minutes ok!!!

Denim Yr 8 Camp

As we were getting ready to go to  CYC Ngaruawahia  we played a few games just waiting for the other bus to come once the other bus came we started loading all the gear on the bus.

We all started cruising down to CYC Ngaruawahia it was a long trip there were a few people singing,sleeping,talking and listening to music. Once we got there all of us started running to the playground some of us were having morning tea.

Then once we finished we started following Mr Barks we were going on a long walk. Then we saw cute roly puppies. We walked up this steep as hill everyone was tired as then we’d stop and wait for everyone else to come.

Everyone was so tired we had a little rest then started walking again. I was sweating and tired my legs was sore but I still kept on going till we reached the top. Once we reached the top it was time for going down.

There were some slipping falling over and braking trees, Me and Aliza were holding on to each other. I was going fast down this steep hill and crashed into Shawn then we started walking again it was a long long long as walk we walked more than 2000.


Once we made it we all had a rest then when we got back to camp we started doing our Activities. The group that I was in was Ngaruawahia A with Miss Va'afusuaga

How To Make A Toy

How To Make A Teddy Bear:

You Will Need:

*1 Cotton

* 2 buttons

* some foam

* Paper

* Glue

* Needles

Size & Colours:

Red , Black , Blue

size: Medium



Method:
1. I am going to draw the shape of the teddy bear on  piece of paper and colour it brown.

2. Then scrunch the cotton up and glue the shape of the teddy bear on to the cotton.

3.  Glue the buttons on the teddy bear.

One scary day

On a windy cold day my friends and I went for a run through the bush. It was dark, the trees were  blowing from side to side and I could hear howling noises. My shoes were muddy and wet because it was starting to rain. We were running on top of small tiny rocks.

We came to a bridge that was long and skinny. I could see people in a boat go past from under the bridge. It reminded me of a dream I had the night before of a similar thing.

Suddenly the bridge shook like there was an earthquake happening.
I screamed and grabbed the side of the bridge. I closed my eyes and waited for the shaking to stop. “What just happened?” I said.

One of the boats hit the bridge. Luckily nobody got hurt.

IXL

We have been using a site called IXL for maths. I have been enjoying using IXL because  its fun to use. This is my Certificate for spending 1 hour on IXL.

Denim London Olympics 2012

This year in 2012 the London Olympics will be held in London. It has been hosting the Olympics 3 times now. The Queen lives in London.

Michael Phelps is an American swimmer who has won 16 medals. He won six golds and two bronze in Athens in 2004 and eight gold medals in Beijing in 2008. Misty May and Kerri Walsh are beach volleyball players  who won gold medals in their last game.

Shawn Johnson was participating in Gymnastics and she was the Olympics Balance beam gold medalist.

My favourite Olympic Sport is Swimming because you can learn how to do different Swimming moves in the water like Back strokes,Freestyle and all sorts of swimming moves.

My holiday hightlight

As soon as I woke up I saw my friends in the lounge waiting for me to wake up when I woke up my dad just told me that I could go to Sylvia Park with my friends Stephanie,Andrea,Katrina,Awhina,Romeo,Cruz,Huriana,Sharon,Chelsea and beautiful so I got ready my dad gave me and my sister 60 bucks each and then we all started cruising off to G.I so we could catch the train to Sylvia Park.When we got to the train we had to wait for 30 minutes for it to come.

So we waited for 30 minutes and after 30 minutes was over we hopped on the train,I had to Pay Romeo and Cruz on the train because they had no money Andrea had to pay Beautiful on aswell.When we got there I went to go to the Warehouse because my aunty works there and she Owned me 20 bucks for cleaning up her house. So we all walked there I had a look around for some shoes I bought me some converses they were actually 80 but my aunty put down to 50 because she knew i had to my some nice clothes for the social.

I went to go have a look at Bling they had nice necklaces but I bought me a Rosemary and my mate wanted 1 so I bought her 1 it was $5.00 Then we all went to Dicksmith so I could print some photos of me and my friends.I went to just jeans they had these nice bright blue ones I bought 2 for 20 bucks.

Then we went to go look for a really nice T-shirt I saw this T-shirt that said SWAG on it I bought the T-shirt Then i only had 40 bucks left so we went to the movies I paid Cruz and Romeo we watched the Snow White and the Huntsmen when I paid for me and them me and Andrea went to Pak N Save to get some Munchies for the movies we bought 3 bottles of coke for 5 bucks and 3 packets of Popcorn and 2 blocks of chocolate and 2 packet of chips then we went to the counter for all of the groceries it was $14.60 then we went back to the movies we had to wait for 10 more minutes for the movie to start

We waited and waited we only had 5 minutes left so we went to give our Tickets to the lady and we went in to watch the movie.We went to go find our seat we got ourselves comfortable and the movie started so we were all on the Munchies I went on my netbook to have a look on my facebook page then I logged out.And gave it to Andrea I was watching the movie and eating Popcorn at the same time I was the only one awake because all of them were tired and fell asleep so I watched the whole movie. At the end of the movie I had to wake all of them up because we had to go we catched our train and went back to G.I.

Term2 Artwork

My special place is my bedroom because I love to watch sky and relax on my bed and use my internet at the same time. Sometimes I like to sleep because I get tired and my friends come over and we listen to music. I have got really good taste in music. My mum will always come in and embarrass me in front of my friends, same as my brothers and sisters. And sometimes I love to have my dog or my nephew in my room to keep me company.

The artist that I have chosen is Daniella Hulme because she has bright colours like blue, yellow, green, baby blue, orange, and purple. She uses different kinds of patterns and shapes. I used blue, green and red in my art. My artwork is based on Daniella Hulme.

Our class has been working hard on our artwork that we have been making and we have been writing a description about our painting and what artist we picked for our artwork so my special place was my room because I like to watch Disney channel use my Internet and have my friends over to have fun SO HOPE YOU LIKE MY PAINTING.

Term 2 reflection

This Term I have learnt how to do strokes,sketch and contrast colours together. My teacher has taught me a lot this term about  Daniella Hulme,Henri Matisse,Da vinci,Pablo Picasso she has told me that some artist uses strokes and uses water paint to make it look realistic and make it look real.

Daniella Hulm has a lot of bright colours like red,orange,purple,pink,baby blue, and green she use flowers to make it go in with the bright colours in her artwork. Daniella Hulme is very colourful with her artwork and she wears tapa cloths with strong colours around her and she likes to have women with their hair down.


We have learnt how to paint like an artist and we’ve seen how they used styles in their paintings


This term we are all going to put our artwork that we did in the hall to show how amazing our artwork is. We are going to show how we painted our artwork like the famous artist we had to use 1 of the famous artist to paint and use their Technique that the artist used.

Spongebob and Patrick

Spongebob and Patrick are so annoying when it comes to Squidward because Patrick and Spongebob are playful.  They like to play a lot and are joyful as well. Spongebob is a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. Spongebob looks like a square yellow sponge.He wears  square brown pants and a red tie. Patrick is a pink starfish and he wears green shorts with purple flowers on it and he is abit silly at times.

Denim 20 hour famine

Well as some of you know, We have the 20 hour famine on again and what we are trying to do is to help Niger and Mali get food,because they have been eating disgusting stuff out there and I am in Team Blue, GO TEAM BLUE.

Today Ido Drent had came in and talked to us about the famine. He has been talking to us about how those kids are suffering and they have been eating a whole cassava through out the whole day.And there was 5 kids and 1 adult that's been looking after 5 kids because the mother had passed away when she gave birth to the youngest one.

Denim Tamaki Tech

“Wow as I yelled extremely loud” I was so happy that I was in food technology because that teaches me how to cook at home when i’m bored. And we also make muffins,cakes,cookies like chocolate cookies, chocolate chip cookies ,and heaps of different cookies they were “YUMMY” they tasted delicious those were the best cookies i’ve ever made in my life. It had white chocolate on top and 100 and 1000 and coconut sprinkles they tasted fantastic. Then the next day we made muffins. I was happy because i’ve never actually made muffins i’ve only seen my mum make muffins and sisters. And now its time for me to make my delicious and  scrumptious muffins. When we finished making our muffins we started to do our dishes and clean our benches. Then when we finished cleaning our muffins were ready they looked really nice. Then we had to melt our chocolate and spread it on top of our muffins and use pink and red icing sugar on our muffins that we made. And when we finished putting our icing on we got to sprinkle some coconut on our muffins.

Pablo Picasso and Danielle Hulm

We’ve been asked to compare and contrast art by Picasso and Daniella Hulme. Picasso’s art is a cubism with shapes and patterns. Picasso’s art is the weeping woman and Daniella Hulm is A lazy day in paradise.

I am looking at the Weeping Woman it looks abit strange and it has a lot of unrealistic things in there. And a lot of bold colours with shapes and patterns.

As you can see Daniella Hulm has used a lot of bright colours like green,blue,red,yellow,and orange. And she is married to a samoan and she used a lot of flower patterns on her pillows. And she has a yellow dress on with flower patterns on it.

As you can see they both have patterns and same colours like green and yellow. And they both have different backgrounds The lazy day in paradise has a blue background and The weeping woman has a orange background with wood in it. And there is two ladies The lazy day in paradise is wearing a yellow dress with flower patterns on it and the weeping woman is wearing a outfit.

I think that Pablo Picasso has a very unique style and he likes to contrast his colours together and and his Style of art is called Cubism and Pablo Picasso likes to look at different Perspectives and angles.And Daniella Hulm used a lot of bright colours in his artwork and and she likes to use tropical backgrounds and patterns as well.

Denim Pools

On Wednesday the 8th of April it was my cousin’s birthday. It was a bright  sunny day so we all decided to go to the pools we went to waiwera pools so we started packing our stuff and we were cruising down to the pools when we got there we went inside i made a tremendous scream when I saw the bright shiny water coming from outside. When we went outside there was heaps of people then we all went to go find us a space for us to  sit and have a feed. Then when we finished having our kai we all went to the hydroslide i was the first 1 it was a long as hydroslide.


It was twirly as well when I finished having my turn on the hydroslide I went to the spa pool it was a little hot but I liked it. When I got out I heard my cousin calling out my name so we could play on the playground. When we made it to the park first we went on this long as slide it was so cool. I got cold as so as I got off the slide  I  sprinted to the pool and I did a bomb. It was awesome when i got back up I went to go get change cause we all were getting ready to go home. When I got in the changing rooms I went to have a shower then went to go get change.

Denim Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse and Vincent Van Gogh both used yellow in their art

and Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse both have plants in their artwork.

We have to compare and contrast two artworks Vincent Van Gogh's ‘Sunflowers’ and Henri Matisse ‘La Musique’.

The sunflowers is a very bold yellow colour. Some flowers look like they're going to die and some flowers look droopy. The technique he used was short brush strokes. The most colours he used in his artwork is yellow and brown. The yellow represents full bloom and brown represents death.

In Matisse's painting he used a lot of green, blue, red and yellow. The painting is of two ladies sitting down. One of the ladies is playing the guitar. The lady with the guitar is wearing a blue outfit. The other lady is wearing a yellow dress.

The differences was  Vincent Van Gogh used a lot of yellow and brown on his flowers and he used yellow for his background. And Henri Matisse had lots of bright colours like yellow,red,blue and green, and there were 2 ladies in it 1 lady was playing a guitar she was wearing a blue outfit and the other lady was wearing a yellow dress. And in the background there were green leaves.

Henri Matisse and Vincent Van Gogh were both famous artists, Henri Matisse died in nice of a heart attack when he was 84 on the 3rd of december. And Vincent Van Gogh had a tough life. Vincent Van Gogh died on July 29th 1890 he Van Gogh died at the age of 37. Then Vincent Van Gogh shot himself in the chest. The bullet was reflected off of his rib bones. Van Gogh died 29 hours after he shot himself. Henri Matisse died normally.

Year 8 and 7 Camp

On the last day of camp the year 7 and 8s went to swimmarama to have a swim and have lots of fun the respect squad was the first ones on the hydro slide then after that we all had morning tea we all had biscuits and a fruit when i finished having my morning tea i went to go have a try on the diving board then a few hours after that we all had lunch i had a chicken roll and a chocolate drink. When i finished i went back on the diving pool but this time i went on the high one the after that i we all saw the warriors.

Denim Camp Concert

HOORAY! “Camp Concert tonight!” I yelled excitedly. Respect Crew were the first ones to be in the hall. Then all the other groups came and sat down in their team lines. I saw plenty of parents, kids and teachers in the audience. There were so many people there. Our judges were Shatna, April, and Bruce. The first group to go up on the stage and dance were the Respect Crew. Their dance was totally cool. Then it was my group Respect Squad. When I got up on the stage I was really nervous because there were lots of people. Our group did ‘Poi e’ and ‘Switch’. I was laughing at how my group was dancing.

Then when ‘Poi e’ finished we did ‘Switch’. We were supposed to walk of with Switch and say “Respect Squad” but then I found out that we didn’t walk off and say Respect Squad. When we finished our dance Mr Barks handed out some awards. Then after he handed the awards out the next group was next i liked there one abit then Mr Barks handed out some more awards when all the groups finished there dancing and Mr Barks handing out awards it was time to go to bed for Wednesday.

Denim Highlight for camp

As i got up i saw out the window a bright blue preiouse skie i got out of bed strated getting my stuff in to the car and strated crusing down to school. As i got there i put my stuff in the hall and went and played with my friends. Then we started getting off to do our activities.My favourite activitie yesterday was food prep and my highlight today was rollerblading.

The Picnic

On a bright sunny day Pt England School had a picnic Mr Burt said if it was gonna rain we weren’t gonna go but we got good luck and it wasn’t raining.Then Pt England School had to walk to the hall so Mr Burt could talk about our boundaries Mr Burt saw plenty of helpers he was pleased.Then we all started cruising down to Pt England Reserve. Then when we got there we all had to sit down in our class lines but the grass was to wet. After Mr Burt talked about where we are suppose to be we all headed to our picnic spot.


The year 7 and 8s had our morning tea as well as the little kids to then when everybody had enough of there morning tea we all picked what we wanted to play. There was kids playing Volley ball,NFL,softball,rugby,tiggy,cricket and Touch. I was just relaxing down by my picnic spot with my friends. Then a few minutes after that i saw the little year 5s having a swim in the beach i saw some kids making hearts out of sand. and fish out of sand and shells as well the water just looked stunning. Then i heard some loud music coming from small Mr Jacobson.





I was bored so i sat near the speaker where the music was coming from because my favourite song was on it was My Baby by Peter T Lesley,Tofate,cael,David,Cecilia,hainite all was there singing. Then it played again so we sang it one more time then I left and i went to play with Isiah we were playing with the tennis ball and the racket.Then i few minutes after that i saw the year 7 and 8s in the beach it was solid.


I was just playing Volley ball with my friends on the beach cause i didn’t want to have a swim. Then we all went to get a fruit cause we were hungry for a fruit i grabbed a apple David grabbed a banana and Cael grabbed a plum we had some funny expressions there. I felt happy that i was playing with my best friends.

Then a few hours after that me and my friends went back to our picnic spot and had a chat about some things. We were playing some games and then it came to karaoke we only could play one song because it was starting to pour down. Then P.E.S was getting ready to go back to school when we all got back to school we all headed back to our class rooms.


Our classroom got to go on our netbooks cause we had to wait till the bell rang. We got to have free time on our netbooks. But then we all had to pack up because the bell was nearly gonna ring. WOW THAT WAS SO FUN.

The Treaty Of Waitangi

On the 6th February 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands. James Busby was regarded as the father of the Australian wine industry. But he was in NZ to help set up a treaty between Maori and Pakeha.

Henry Williams was a missionary who changed the English version of the treaty into Maori. Hone Heke was a Maori Rangitira (chief) and was leader in Northern New Zealand.

Protection, Partnership, Participation were used to bring the Maori and Pakeha altogether. The treaty was all about these 3 things. The chiefs were only over-protective of their land and treasures.

Protection means protecting someone.
Partnership means two people as partners working together.
Participation means joining in.

My Nephews 1st

As I got out of bed I heard this loud noise coming from the second room so I got out of bed and went and had a look. It was my family saying happy birthday to my nephew because it was his 1st birthday. So a few seconds after that we all started cruising down to the ferry in the city. We were in Rarotonga on holiday. We all got out of the car and walked down to the ferry. I got to the ferry first. When I got on there I sat down on the chair.

A few hours after that we finally got to my Nana’s house. There were heaps of people there like my Nana, my Papa and my cousins. They were all happy that I was there because they haven’t seen me for quite a long time. And I really really miss my Nana and Papa. A few hours after that we all had a swim and I saw dolphins... they were nice. One of my cousins had a ride on the dolphin and it looked pretty cool. I didn’t want to because it looked scary so I got out of the water.

Then I went to get change because it was cold. My mum and aunties were setting the birthday up. While my nephew was with my dad getting some lollies,drinks and chips. By the time they got back all the kids were playing kinect. I was just helping my mum set up the birthday. When me and my mum and Aunty finished setting up the birthday we called all the kids and family in. To sing the happy birthday then we had a big feed and we all went back in to the water it was cool. I had a great time at the birthday. HORRAY for my nephew.
